Top Uses For Apple Cider Vinegar

This amazing ingredient is becoming increasingly popular as we learn about the benefits and amazing multiple uses for both health and beauty. If you don't already have any in your pantry here are a few good reasons why you should always have some to hand.

Household Cleaning

It's not just a food product, many people are using apple cider vinegar as a cost effective secret weapon in their household war on grime and dirt. Its effective on scorched pots and pans by adding one cup and bringing to the boil. Sprinkle in some baking soda and scrub the scorch and burn away with ease! Use it with water to clean bacteria and leave oven tops and surfaces clean and shiny.

Cleans White Goods

Okay, this is an extension of cleaning but there's something quite therapeutic about cleaning your white goods every now and then. Put one cup of ACV in a dishwasher-safe container in the top rack. Add one cup of baking soda in a separate bowl and run a hot wash cycle (no need to add any dishes, this is just to clean your dishwasher as it's unable to clean itself). Similarly for your washing machine add 1 or 2 cups of apple cider vinegar as you would detergent and let the machine run without any clothes. Your machine will be even cleaner than before.

Natural Skin Toner

Many people use apple cider vinegar as an effective skin toner. Apply diluted ACV to cleansed skin using a cotton pad. Leave the toner on for one to two minutes before rinsing off with warm water and applying a moisturizer. Many people report it has great effects to close pores and clarify skin.  For those with sensitive skin please test before using all over your face as this could be a tad strong for your skin.

Wash Your Fruit And Veggies

The acetic acid in apple cider vinegar is very effective at killing food borne illnesses from fresh produce.

It’s believed it can help to reduce the blood sugar level and prevent fat deposition around the liver. If you want to give it a try, add one tablespoon of ACV to a glass of warm water and drink the tonic down once a day.
