What are the differences between the horizontal Omega Juicers?

Omega J8228 Surrounded by Fruits

Back in 2018 Anthony William, the Medical Medium correctly recommended the Omega NC902 model as great for juicing Celery Juice. This lead to a huge demand for Omega Juicers. Back early 2019 this lead to Omega machines coming in and out of stock with long delays in people getting the machine they were after. Thankfully it was moved to a new importer now operating at Omega Juicers Australia and the stock issues are less and less each week.

Here in this blog we will explain the differences between the NC range and the J8227s and J8228c all of which are very capable at juicing Celery along with most other fruits and vegetables.

Juicer Generations

We have 3 main Generations available to us in Australia. The J8227 & J8228 models are from the 5th Generation of Omega Juicers. The NC802 is from the 6th and more recently we have the ultra premium models the MM900HDS and the NC1002HD which are from the 7th generation.

What are the differences?

Each of the machines have small differences that affect their performance. This just means that your own independent requirements should help with your decision.

Feeding Chute Size

Both the J8227 and J8228 have the same size chute, It is a 4.5cm circle. Whilst  the NC machines come with a slightly larger 5.5cm oval shape.

The MM900 also comes with the 4.5cm circle option.

BPA Free

The plastics that make up the Omega Juicers are BPA free.

The black parts such as the Nozzle are made from PE, the Auger is PEI Ultem tough plastic and the clear see through drum is Tritan.

Juicing Screen

The J8227 and J8228 have had improvements made their juicing screen with more Stainless steel added. For example the screen where the juice comes through is now steel, the earlier NC model is still plastic that is the NC802. The NC1002HDC has the upgraded screen. This is traditionally a part that gets damaged due to excess force used when placing produce into your machine. The way to avoid damage is take your time, only use your plunger to direct produce down the chute, do not use it to force things through.

RPM Speed

All Omega Juicers operate at 80 RPM. This is the perfect speed to get the mist enzymes and nutrients. Any less would require a stronger motor to process your produce.

How much juice does each one achieve?

Each of the Omega horizontal juicers will give you a fantastic yield across a wide range of produce. The MM900 offers the highest yield for Celery Juice around 10% more than the NC1002 & NC802 and up to 20% more than the J8227 & J8228.

The NC802 & NC1002 both offer around 10% more yield across all ingredients than the J8227 & J8228.

Do all the Omega Juicers make other raw food recipes?

Yes they will all make the other recipes such as Nut butters and Sorbets. However with the MM900HDS you will need to purchase the extra attachment for this.

How easy are they to clean?

All the exact same. Clean it as soon as you are finished juicing and it will take around 45 seconds.

How long can I juice for?

Each machine has a safety shut off button should the motor feel a little overworked but in general its 30 minutes at a time. For celery juicers we suggest no more than 480ml of celery juice at one time. Clean the machine and let it rest after this volume.

Do they all come with Australian plugs and correct voltage?

Yes the Omega Juicers for sale on our site are made for the Australian market.

Love Your Health’s thoughts

Most people call us asking what is the best juicer for them and we always ask, “What is it you will be juicing most of?”

The answer is nearly always the same, Celery, Leafy Greens, fruits and vegetables.

For anyone looking to start cold pressed juicing or follow the medical medium protocol any of these juicers are going to do a fabulous job.

The biggest differences between them all is the amount of juice you get in your glass. If you are following the Medical Medium protocol and will be juicing Celery each day then its perhaps a good idea to focus on the MM900HDS as this will bring down your overall spend on Celery.

If you are looking at the NC802S or the NC1002HD models then you will get more juice than the other models too, so always consider how much you will be juicing each week.

The J8227 & J8228 have sold more than any other over the last 3 years and the feedback speaks for itself. You really can't go wrong with an Omega Juicer.
