At the age of 57, 2die4 Live Foods founder Clive Lawler suffered severe neuro-toxic poisoning. Forced to stop and recuperate, Clive began researching toxin free foods, finding all paths leading to the ancient principle of fermentation.
Embracing fermantation, Clive came up with a rare jewel of a food: “Fermented Walnuts”. These became so popular with Clive’s friends that he started 2die4 Fermented Walnuts from his home kitchen. The popularity of these “Fermented Nuts” grew, almonds and pecans were added to the range and Clive coined the name “Activated” nuts – it just sounded better… The rave reviews kept coming and 2die4 eventually outgrew Clive’s kitchen. Clive approached an old mate, Jon Henning, and in 2007 they partnered up, leased a space in Byron Bay, and from there, the range just kept growing as more and more people were switched on to the health of slooow foods.
Together, Clive and Jon turned a truly ancient, proven practise into a modern, consumer-friendly food revolution!
